Theme: Food Groups & Taking Care of our Earth
We sorted out things that help or hurt our earth.
Miss Becker's room is trashed. We worked together to pick up the "garbage" but before feeding the garbage can we had to tell our friends the letter of the alphabet and sound on our piece of garbage.
We learned about healthy foods and on Friday, the 3 day class made fruit and spinach smoothies.
Here is a picture of the smoothies we tried. The one on the left was made with just frozen berries, banana and water. The one on the right was made with the same fruit with the addition of spinach. The students were surprised to find that they tasted the same and kept asking for more!!
We had fun looking for Easter eggs and little chicks in our sensory table.
We were busy at the restaurant.
We have had fun playing a homemade game "ZAP" which helps us learn our letters and sounds.
We decorated coffee filters with marker and then sprayed them with water to make a picture of our beautiful earth!
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life!" John 3:16
They both wore owl shirts on the same day!
"I can help the earth by..." Some of their responses: picking up trash, not wasting water, sharing my old toys and clothes, sorting garbage, recycling paper.
We stamped with limes and oranges. It smelled so good!
We eagerly watched our caterpillars form a chrysalis this week.
The 2 day class squeezed lemons to make lemonade during healthy food week.
Some of us were brave enough to try tasting the lemon and even liked the sour taste!
The 5 day class loves to practice their letters and play teacher.
Each butterfly had a number and she worked on putting them in order.
These friends had a great imagination. They pretended the blue carpet was the swimming pool and they were playing at the pool.
The 2 day class made symmetrical butterflies by painting only one side of the paper. We folded their paper and they watched as the paint transferred to the other side.
We had some old bulletin board paper so we let the 3 day class color pictures on it! They were thrilled to color on such a big piece of paper together!
