Week one!

We made it through our first week of Pre-K!  We are learning the daily routine and having a great time! We are practicing keeping our hands to ourselves, being kind friends, following directions, and walking in a line!  We have met many new friends and have enjoyed playing with all the fun center areas at school!

The popular class centers were:
-the apple pie sensory table (Miss Becker’s room)
-farm, tractor, and corn sensory table (Mrs. Koosman’s room)
-Barn dramatic play area (Miss Becker’s room)
-Housekeeping dramatic play area (Mrs. Koosman’s room)

This coming week we will be learning about the Farm and many different farm animals!  We also begin our COLOR DAYS!  In Religion we will be learning about the days of Creation and Adam and Eve.

We are excited that you have chosen St. John’s Lutheran School as the place to start your child’s education.  We are confident that God has placed you at our school for a reason.  It is our prayer that your child continues to grow as a child of God as each day your child has the opportunity to learn more about Jesus.  Thank you for your partnership as we find ways to best support your child’s development this year!

Enjoy the pictures!

PK3 had their first Library visit!

They set up the chairs like a movie theater and put on a performance in the barn.  They passed out teddy bear counters as popcorn.  It was fun to watch!

We are practicing walking in a line.  (see picture above and below) If only there always was a line to walk on.

All PK classes learned bus safety this week.  We used the railing to get on the school bus.  We practiced climbing out the back of the bus in case of an emergency.

We made a school bus to go with the song "The Wheels on the Bus."  The wheels on our bus even go around and around!

Yum, apple pie!

Using scissors and glue to make a school bus project.  They did great!

He was feeding the horses.
